Dear parents and students,

In early May, the school's choir won the championship at the competition held at the San Wui Commercial Society Secondary School, which greatly surprised and proud the students. Subsequently, student Lam Kin-ho from Class 2A achieved an excellent result of finishing fifth in the inter-school swimming competition, which made the teachers and students very proud. Also, the P5 students represented the school to participate in the “Primary STEAM Project Exhibition” and won an outstanding award. These achievements not only reflect the students' efforts, but also demonstrate the all-round cultivation of the school in academic and extra-curricular activities.

五月中旬,足球隊參加了青松侯寶垣中學的五人足球邀請賽,雖然比賽期間出現一些意外,但他們仍勇敢地爭取到季軍。這顯示了同學們團結互助、永不言棄的精神。同一天,學校參與了由屬校幼稚園主辦的聯校舞蹈「共創孩子的成就」匯演。當天主禮嘉賓和多位校長蒞臨,是一個隆重而具有重大意義的活動。我們的學生也以精彩的猴子舞表演,獲得了全場熱烈的掌聲。

In mid-May, the football team participated in the 5-a-side football invitation tournament organized by Ching Chung Hau Po Woon Secondary School. Although there were some unexpected incidents during the competition, they still bravely fought and won the third place. This showed the students' spirit of unity and perseverance. On the same day, the school participated in the inter-school dance performance "Creating Achievements for Children" organized by the affiliated kindergarten. The officiating guest and several principals attended, making it a solemn and significant event. Our students also performed an excellent monkey dance and received enthusiastic applause from the audience.

五月十三日（一）是同區一所小學的40周年校慶,多位校長一起出席進行分享交流。這無疑是一個良好的交流機會,相信這種跨校合作能夠進一步促進教育發展。

On Monday 13th May, a neighboring primary school celebrated its 40th anniversary. Several principals gathered to share and exchange ideas. This was undoubtedly a good exchange opportunity, and it is believed that this kind of cross-school collaboration can further promote educational development.

五月尾,學校舉行了家長日活動,讓家校雙方有更多溝通交流的機會,同時也舉行了書展,推動了閱讀風氣。下午我還跟學生一起前往中學參加「龍岡之音」粵劇推廣活動, 本校兩位學生也上台表演，得到了熱鬧掌聲，無論台上、台下，大家一見到兩人，就立即讚賞他們，令學生們的自信心大增。最後,還有一位6B班的陶蘊妍同學在田徑方面取得優異成績,獲得了香港學生運動員獎,可喜可賀!

At the end of May, the school held a Parents' Day activity, allowing closer communication between the school and parents. A book fair was also held to promote the reading culture. In the afternoon, I went with the students to a secondary school to attend the "Lung Kong Sound" Cantonese opera promotion activity. Two students from our school also performed on stage and received warm applause. Their confidence was greatly boosted. Finally, a student from Class 6B, To Wan Yin, also achieved excellent results in track and field and won the Hong Kong Student Athlete Award, which was very commendable.

教育局多年來也推行「姊妹學校計劃」，目的是為兩地學校提供一個交流平台，透過交流與合作，加深認識兩地文化，共同提升教育素質。我們十分重視這個計劃，我們校監、校長、老師、主任、老師和同學，70多人浩浩蕩蕩地前往新會交流。這次姊妹學校交流團名為「尋找龍岡的故事」，重點是到我們結盟以久的新會圭峰小學交流。我們在第二天早上前往學校參觀。在周校長細心安排下，他們準備了一個學校介紹，由學生帶領我們四處參觀。之後，我們一起到禮堂參加一個歡迎儀式，首先由兩校校長講話及交換紀念品。之後就有不同的精彩節目表演。表演後同學們安排到不同的課室參加課堂，了解內地學生學習的情況，分別有數學課、科創課、科學課、英語課、陶藝課、書法課及美術課。我們下午更在學校享用午膳。衷心多謝圭峰小學的周校長、主任、老師和同學款待。

The Education Bureau has been implementing the "Sister School Scheme" for many years, with the aim of providing an exchange platform for schools in the two places. Through exchange and cooperation, it deepens the understanding of the cultures of the two places and jointly improves the quality of education. We attach great importance to this plan. More than 70 people, including our supervisor, principal, teachers, heads and students, went to Xinhui for the exchange. The theme of this sister school exchange was "Finding the Story of Lung Kong", focusing on visiting our long-term partner school, Guifeng Primary School in Xinhui. On the second day, we visited the school in the morning. Under the careful arrangement of Principal Zhou, they prepared a school introduction, and the students led us to tour the campus. Afterwards, we went to the auditorium to participate in a welcome ceremony, where the principals of the two schools gave speeches and exchanged souvenirs. Then there were various wonderful performances. After the performances, the students arranged for us to attend different classes to understand the learning situation of Mainland students, including Math, Science creation, Science, English, Pottery, Calligraphy and art classes. We also had lunch at the school in the afternoon. We sincerely thank Principal Zhou, teachers and students of Guifeng Primary School for their hospitality.

這三日兩夜之旅，我們也安排同學到開平的龍岡古廟。我在這裡所看到牆上壁畫，娓娓道來了四姓的結盟；先祖遺訓所道出做人的道理。令我和同學們深深明白龍岡精神。我們也有參觀馮如紀念館，了解中國的設計飛機的第一人。陳白沙紀念館令同學明白如何陳白沙是一位很有才能的學者，他是思想家、教育家、書法家、詩人、生命科學家。最後一天，我們前往中國僑都華僑華人博物館，了解當年華人的生活及歷史。之後我們分別到宋元崖門海戰文化旅遊區及崖門古炮台參觀，了解當年如何在海崖上保護國家。

During this three-day two-night trip, we also arranged for the students to visit the Lung Kong Ancient Temple in Kaiping. The murals on the walls told the story of the alliance of the Four Surnames, and the ancestral teachings expounded the principles of being a person. This made me and the students deeply understand the Lung Kong spirit. We also visited the Feng Ru Memorial Hall to learn about China's first aircraft designer, and the Chen Bai-sha Memorial Hall to understand how Chen Bai-sha was a talented scholar, thinker, educator, calligrapher, poet and life scientist. On the last day, we went to the China Qiaodu Museum of Overseas Chinese to learn about the lives and history of the overseas Chinese in the past. Afterwards, we went to the Yaodun Naval Battle Cultural Tourism Area and the Yaodun Ancient Cannon Tower to learn about the history of defending the country on the seaside cliffs.

經過這次的交流，同學們獲益良多。我們也會每年為同學安排同類型的交流，提升學生國家身份認同。

After this exchange, the students gained a lot. We will also arrange similar exchanges for the students every year to enhance their sense of national identity.

總的來說,LTY在五月份的各項活動可謂精彩紛呈,學生們在不同領域都有出色的表現,展現了良好的品格素質,令人欣喜。我相信,在全校師生的共同努力下,LTY定能繼續創造更多驕人的成就,為學校譜寫新的輝煌篇章。

In summary, the various activities of LTY School in May were full of highlights. The students demonstrated outstanding performance in different fields and exhibited excellent character qualities, which is very gratifying. I believe that with the joint efforts of all teachers and students, LTY will continue to create more remarkable achievements and write a new chapter of glory for the school.
